Initially, to provide administrative support to the Investment Advisor and work collaboratively with Manulife Securities head office and partners to deliver an exceptional client experience.  The objective of the position is to allow the individual to progress in his/her career to eventually take charge of the advisor’s clientele.

  • Contribute to the achievement of the Investment Advisor’s business plan objectives by establishing and maintaining client relationships through client acquisition among our existing clients (through referrals), or through marketing and community engagement initiatives.
  • Business acumen.
  • Provide information on the products and services offered.
  • To produce daily reports and to erect/manage Excel spreadsheets accordingly.
  • Maintain and organize the customer database.
  • Ensure that activities are handled accurately and promptly.  This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Review client documentation to ensure the accuracy of the information.
    • Establish investment accounts, process deposits and transactions.
    • Process changes to client files (physical and cloud-based).
    • Act as an intermediary between head office, the advisor, and the clients.
    • Ensure document compliance in all transactions.
    • Project a professional and consistent image by adhering to the brand, identity, and standards of the organization.
  • Monitor risk and compliance policies and processes to ensure that our clients’ assets and confidentiality are protected, acted in their best interests, and effectively directed the branch.
  • Protect the clients’ assets and comply with all legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
  • Analyze problems and determine next steps to find a solution.
  • Support the advisor by trading on the stock markets.
  • Participate in continuing education related to the duties of the position.
  • Develop one’s knowledge and skills through training offered within the sector.
  • Other broader tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.


  • Two to five years of relevant professional experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Training:  Canadian Securities Course (successful) and Canadian Practice Handbook (passed or completed within 12 months of hiring).
  • Languages required: French and English (expression, oral and written).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong sense of customer service.
  • Autonomous and self-motivated.
  • In-depth knowledge of processes and procedures related to various investments.
  • Knowledge of compliance practices and regulations.
