Job offer Description

The person in this position is responsible for planning menus and preparing meals and snacks for the children. He/she will play an active role in planning the biennial menus and adapting them to the specific needs of the children assigned to his/her site. She will be responsible for purchasing food products and managing all meal-related tasks. She will comply with Health Department requirements and the provisions of the Ontario Day Nurseries Act. Occasionally, she will assist the educators when they are out of ratios.

Desired qualifications:
– High school diploma plus vocational training in cooking, combined with one year’s experience in a similar environment and position (daycare, hospitals, seniors’ center, as examples).
– Food safety training certificate an asset
– Driver’s license and vehicle available for purchases (asset)
– Good command of spoken French

– Valid General First Aid & CPR Level C certificate
– Negative criminal record check – vulnerable clientele (less than 6 months old at time of hire)

– Up-to-date immunization record (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, MMR and polio as required)
– Proof of vaccination
