MECHANICAL BIM MODELER

Come join S&R Mechanicals’ Virtual Design & Construction Team. We are industry leaders in this area. Our dynamic team enjoys collaborating to innovate and use their creativity to take our Construction Projects to the next level. We make use of integrated multi-disciplinary 3D performance models to digitally visualize and plan all aspects of a construction project. We work closely with our Project Site Team and Pre-Fabrication Shop team to make our designs come to life using state of the art processes and machinery.

This position reports directly to our VDC Manager. This individual (BIM Modeler) will play a key role in the development of fabrication-quality models for Plumbing and Mechanical systems.

Responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

• Schedule VDC Project meetings with PM’s/Foremen and President for pre-planning of large projects
• Partner with Shop Foreman on Spooling projects
• Continuous development of our softwares associated to the VDC/SLT teams (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM Pro-FAB Pro, Navisworks, Hilti Total Station, Plangrid, Smartsheet etc)
• Design and layout of commercial plumbing/heating systems and mechanical rooms
• Prepare shop/spool pre-fabrication drawings
• Prepare work packages for on-site installation
• Work continuously with Senior Management and Shop Team to innovate and streamline department practices
• Draft interference drawings for coordination with other trades
• Attend Various project meetings
• Support in the development of standard processes and procedures
• Liaise with President, Project Managers and Site Foremen
• Continuous self-development and ongoing training
• Support and back up for the Site Survey team – may require on site work for training and troubleshooting
• Ad-hoc projects

 

Qualifications:

• College or University level Engineering diploma
• Experience with Revit is required
• Knowledge of VDC/BIM is required (most work done in Revit)
• Knowledge of Total Stations is an asset
• Knowledge/experience of Fabrication CADmep, Dynamo, Python, BIM360, BlueBeam, and Navisworks are all assets
• 1-3 years’ experience in construction, pre-fabrication, engineering, or related field is an asset
• Competent reading and understanding construction/technical drawings is required
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Plumbing/HVAC knowledge is a an asset
• Coding Skills are an asset
• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset

Starting wage: $47,000 (dependent on experience in Revit and in the Construction Industry)
