You, who is between 15 and 29 years old, unemployed, who live in eastern Ontario? We have a program that could help you! The Youth Connection Program will help you find a job. At this time of pandemic, this is a great time to do pre-employment workshops and get paid to do them.
- YJC stands for Youth Job Connection Program.
- It is a program to help you find a job and keep it.
- It does not cost you anything, apart from your time and your positive energy.
- With the help of Employment Ontario, you will look for an employer who would like to hire you.
- You will be assist throughout the program.
15 to 18 years old – YJC summer
To qualify you must…
- Be between 15 and 18 years old, have no or little work experience and want to find a job while in school.
Why you should do the program:
- You will do a pre-employment training of 20 hours where you will learn strategies to find and keep a job.
- You will be paid for your 20 hours of training (20 x $14,00 = $280).
18 to 29 years old –YJC
To qualify you must…
- Be between 18 and 29 years old, looking for a job. Be unemployed and not registered in a training program.
Why you should do the program:
- You will do a pre-employment training of 60 hours where you will learn strategies to find and keep a job.
- You will be paid for your 60 hours of training (60 x $14,00 = $840).
Work placement
- You can start a work placement with an employer at the end of your 20 hours YJC-Summer or 60 hours for YJC.
- During your work placement, if you need any type of work equipment, clothes, boots, gas; we can help you with that!
- You will be monitored (phone, email or in-person) during your placement.
- Caution – leaving an employer before talking to the counselor should not happen.
